ZINE:UNSEEN is the collective platform for independent and critical self-publications. This includes the works of all people who express themselves through the medium zine and whose voices are often not heard. ZINE:UNSEEN thus refers to the (radically) political origins of the medium and dissolves the boundaries between art, self-publishing and subculture.

ZINE:UNSEEN ist ein kollektives Projekt, das als Distributionsplattform für handgemachte, unabhängige, antikapitalistische Selbstpublikationen agiert. Unsere einzigartigen, limitierten Editionen, die die DIY-Philosophie und den revolutionären Ursprung der Zine-Bewegung reflektieren, machen Positionen von Künstler:innen sichtbar, deren Stimmen sonst nicht gehört werden. Dazu zählen alle, die sich durch das Medium Zine ausdrücken wollen, nicht- und semiprofessionelle Kunstschaffende, marginalisierte Personen und Akteur:innen außerhalb einer institutionalisierten Kunstwelt. Unser Ziel ist es, diese oft übersehenen Stimmen der Zine-Kultur ans Licht zu bringen und ihre Bedeutung als Ausdrucksform für kreative Autonomie und politische und kulturelle Haltung hervorzuheben. Diese Stimmen erzählen Geschichten von Widerstand und Identität – nicht nur als Sammelstücke, sondern als lebendige Zeugnisse einer kreativen Diskursform, einer eigenständigen Kunst- und Subkultur. Damit bezieht sich ZINE:UNSEEN auf die unverfälschte Ästhetik und den ursprünglich (politisch-)radikalen Geist des Mediums und löst die Grenzen zwischen Kunst, Selbstverlag und Subkultur auf.

ZINE:UNSEEN is a collective project that acts as a distribution platform for handmade, independent, anti-capitalist self-publications. Our unique and limited editions reflect the DIY philosophy as well as the revolutionary origins of the zine movement and highlight the positions of artists whose voices are otherwise not heard. This includes everyone who wants to express themselves through the medium zine, non-professional and semi-professional artists, marginalized people and actors outside the institutionalized art world. Our goal is to visualize these often overlooked voices of zine culture and highlight their importance as a form of expression for creative autonomy and political and cultural stance. These voices tell stories of resistance and identity – not just as collector’s items, but as living testimonies of a creative form of discourse, an independent art and subculture. ZINE:UNSEEN thus refers to the unadulterated aesthetics and the originally (politically) radical spirit of the medium and dissolves the boundaries between art, self-publishing and subculture.
