ZINE:UNSEEN ist eine kollektives Projekt, das als Distributionsplattform für unabhängige, kritische Selbstpublikationen agiert und Stimmen von Personen sichtbar macht, die sonst kaum Gehör finden. Dazu zählen alle, die sich über das Medium Zine ausdrücken wollen, unabhängig von akademischer Ausbildung, institutioneller Anbindung oder Markterfahrung. Im Zentrum stehen marginalisierte Perspektiven und künstlerische Ausdrucksformen jenseits etablierter Strukturen.
ZINE:UNSEEN bezieht sich auf die unverfälschte Ästhetik und den ursprünglich (politisch-)radikalen Geist des Mediums Zine und löst die Grenzen zwischen Kunst, Selbstverlag und Subkultur auf.
Gegründet 2025, ist ZINE:UNSEEN im ersten Jahr kontinuierlich gewachsen. Von ursprünglich nur neun Zines im März wuchs das Sortiment der Plattform bis Dezember auf rund 40 Titel von etwa 30 verschiedenen Artists – Tendenz steigend. ZINE:UNSEEN war auf sechs Veranstaltungen vertreten und konnte dabei über 80 Werke in neue Hände bringen.
Seit Herbst 2025 ergänzt der ZINE:UNSEEN stammtisch das Projekt als offenes, informelles Treffen für Menschen, die Zines machen, lesen oder neu entdecken möchten. Hier wird gedacht, geteilt, produziert und diskutiert – über Inhalte, Ideen, Materialien, Produktionsweisen und Vertriebswege. Ein Raum für kollektives Weiterdenken, kreative Prozesse und solidarische Vernetzung.

ZINE:UNSEEN is open to everyone who creates or publishes zines independently — whether your zine is political, personal, experimental, or loud.
Art books and publications from commercial publishers are excluded. Submissions by marginalized voices with critical or artistic approaches are especially welcome.

ZINE:UNSEEN is a collective project and distribution platform for independent and critical self-publishing. It amplifies voices that often go unheard, regardless of academic background, institutional ties, or market experience. At its core are marginalized perspectives and artistic expressions that exist outside established structures.
ZINE:UNSEEN thus refers to the raw aesthetics and the (politically) radical origins of the medium and dissolves the boundaries between art, self-publishing and subculture.
Founded in 2025, ZINE:UNSEEN has grown steadily in its first year. Starting with just nine zines in March, the collection expanded to around 40 titles by December, created by approximately 30 different artists – with more to come. ZINE:UNSEEN participated in six events and successfully placed over 80 works into new hands.
Since autumn 2025, the ZINE:UNSEEN stammtisch has been a regular part of the project – an open, informal space for people who make, read, or are discovering zines for the first time. It is a place to think, share, create, and discuss – from content and ideas to materials, production methods, and distribution. A space for collective reflection, creative processes, and building supportive connections.
